Menstrual Health Education

Agape’s education team provides life changing instruction, focusing on menstrual health, teaching girls and women about their bodies and menstruation.

In La Gonave, like many other very poor countries which lack sanitation facilities with running water and menstrual care products, most girls stay home from school during their periods using rags, leaves or whatever they can find to manage their menstruation. They miss an average of five days of school per month or six weeks per school year.

We have partnered with the international organization, Days for Girls, to provide washable, reusable menstrual kits which allows girls to stay in school when they’re menstruating.

Agape is creating a business enterprise to be operated by local women who will sew, sell and distribute these kits locally to support and empower girls and woman.
